Morning's Greeting
Have you ever had a morning that was just... well... the only words I can come up with are 'perfectly serene'? That was the morning that I took this image. It was last June, and I arrived at the pier opposite of the Manistee lighthouse a bit before sunrise.
The temperature was perfect... no wind to speak of... The colors of the sky could only be described as 'peaceful'. The morning had greeted me with perfection.
The water was warm and calm, but the long exposure I took makes it look like ice. I blended the Belt of Venus, the pinkish hue on the horizon, and the water because I wanted to get lost in the minimalistic simplicity of the lighthouse and pier.
The sun, which came up behind me and to the right, was peeking above the horizon just enough to kiss the lighthouse and add its yellow warmth to the sky.
