Autumn Intentional Camera Movement. A Michigan Fine Art Landscape Print for Sale.

My goal was to take a unique image that simply captures the colors of autumn, but I wasn't sure of the best approach.

I thought about a long exposure of some trees blowing in the wind, but that didn't seem to be what I was looking for. Blurry trees with the ground in focus didn't evoke the feeling I was trying to capture.

I just wanted color... Natural colors of autumn... Blended together. Was this even possible with a camera?

It was then I remembered this photographic technique; intentional camera movement. Yes. Everything, the trees, ground, background will blend together. That's what I was looking for.

What is it about the colors of autumn that make us so awestruck? Is it simply that we are tired of the green that has dominated the countryside for several months? Or is it the drop in temperature and humidity? Do we just need a change?

Whatever the case, I wish they would stick around a bit longer.

The colors of autumn just don't last long enough.
