The waves were kind of crazy on this evening.
They weren't rolling in one after another. They were trying to overtake each other, crisscrossing each other, slamming into each other. It seriously felt like the lake was boiling.
They kept pounding their way up the beach. My wife, who was sitting on the sand next to where I was standing, had to scramble to get out of the way and move further up the beach several times.
As waves crashed, the gale-force winds would immediately blow the spray away. In the wind, the shower mixed with the sand from the beach and blasted the onlookers.
It was painful, but beautiful to behold.
