This is one of the lesser known landscapes in Michigan. The dolomite cliffs stare off into a distant sunset as the posts from the old dock stand in silent vigil in the waters of Snail Shell Harbor, remembering the days of old. 

They stand guarding the Fayette ghost town, having watched the buildings rise beside them.
